Union Square is the city's prime shopping, hotel and theater district, containing the largest collection of department stores, boutiques, tourist shops and salons in the Western United States. This area is also the site of many public concerts, protests, speeches by dignitaries and the annual Christmas tree and Menorah events.
This park was the first public square established before the gold rush in 1848. It is considered a part of Chinatown and features many statues including the Goddess of Democracy.
Washington Square is located in San Francisco's North Beach District and consists of a park, restaurants and the St. Peter and Paul Church.
